Synopsis
Album Description Dork Rock Cork Rod palindromic rock filled hooks that take cues from the Minutemen, Replacements, Elvis Costello, Black Flag, Green Day and the Zombies. An incredible rollercoaster ride of fast, slow, and really fast tempos with heart felt lyrics that hit close to home. The Ergs know how to rock. Whether they are playing trash, pop, punk or the occasional jazz, but no matter all these different styles the songs have that signature ERGS rock tattooed all over them. |
CD ReviewsHmm... Alex Nennig | New London, WI | 12/31/2008 (4 out of 5 stars) "Looks like Milo DIDN'T Go To College...
"Dorkrockcorkrod" (a palindrome, if you didn't notice) by the Ergs is pretty much a Descendents album. And I mean that as a compliment, in the best possible way. The songs are just as hooky, melodically satisfying, geekily endearing, and musically competent as anything that the boys who made "Milo Goes To College" have been able to throw together. In all honesty, the Ergs are flat-out FANTASTIC pop-punk band that actually flex their abilities beyond the Screeching Weasel/Queers sector of the genre. While it is very Descendents-y, I'd have a hard time finding a better pop-punk album made after 2000. Highly recommended." |
