Unsung Jazz Piano Star

"It is so unfortunate that Pieranunzi's recordings are not particularly easy to come by in the US. He is simply a master of jazz piano. Though I prefer him in a trio format, this quintet recording features many fine solos, and Pieranunzi's great compositions. His playing is always examplary - he is an obvious master of the Bill Evans style, but more than that, is a conglomeration of many of the great contemporary players (all of whom owe a debt to Evans of course)."
