CD Reviews

Excellent and Ingenious Soundtrack Recording

"I have quite a few Morricone soundtrack's mostly from the early seventies, but this is maybe my single favorite. The first soundtrack(i Malamondo) has so many different styles running through it, and it is just amazing and really hypnotic. It goes from being turbulent and warlike to humorous and heartwarming. I even detect a rockabilly and island sound within it, and it even reminds me of a lunatic asylum. I could talk about all the individual track's within, but basically it just brings a smile to my face and I highly recommend it. La Tarantola Dal Ventre Nero(Black Belly Of The Tarantula)is also a great score. I have the film on tape, and the score always struck me as being very creative.Morricone sets the tone perfectly. You can close your eyes and picture the acupuncture needle going into the victims neck and the belly's being split open while they are still conscious. The track's L'abbraccio Caldo Della Tarantola and Un Uomo Si E Dimesso are different variations of the same theme and are both very beautiful. This cd is perfect testament to the incredibly diverse mind of Morricone."
