Album DescriptionDigitmovies proudly celebrates the 45th anniversary of Morricone?s career by releasing on CD the complete score he composed and orchestrated for Luciano Salce's 'Il Federale' (The Fascist, 1961) starring Ugo Tognazzi. This CD was released thanks to the big help of C.A.M. and Maestro Morricone himself who authorized every selected track. This score is very important from a historical point of view since it represents Maestro Morricone?s absolute first film scoring assignment and also the first record in his huge discography. Ennio Morricone has written an orchestral score (conducted by Pierluigi Urbini) dominated by a lovely March called Marcia Del Viaggio , a funny military theme like a real Scherzo for Orchestra, introduced in Titoli and then reprised with variations in the score. The other main theme is called Tema Di Bonafè for the character of Professor Bonafè (Georges Wilson) a mystic motif with a semi-religious flavor. The score alternates humoresque music passages to other dramatic ones. This score written by a young Morricone is a music jewel containing many elements so typical of his later style that he has developed and matured during the following four decades and a half. Thank you Morricone for 45 years of legendary film music. Limited edition compact disc includes 12 full color pages in a deluxe booklet. 2006.
