Another Great Morricone Box From Dagored

"This is another wonderful 3-disc collection of Ennio Morricone full-length soundtracks. Each comes with its own jewel case and CD booklet, and all three are packaged in a nice, solid cardboard slip case.
Revolver - This is one has a bit of variety amongst the tracks. Of the three, this one feels the most like an American 70s TV cop drama's score. It does have moments of dissidence and a schmaltzy vocal number in the mix.
Gli Intoccabili - Another mix of songs anchored by the Spaghetti Western-esque Ballad(s) of Hank McCain. There are about 5 variations of that song, all with the great, fake American accented vocal. The rest of the songs are pretty mellow, loungey and EZ listening.
Una Giornata Nera Per L'Ariete - This is my favorite of the three. It not as consistent from track to track as the other two. Yet, this was is far more experimental and challenging. This soundtrack has more in common with the giallo scores that Morricone was composing at around the same time. There are some soft numbers and tension-filled nail biters and a couple funky jazz grooves too."
