"Each version or re-mix of Mea Culpa will not disappoint. Each track is layered with sensual and seductive vocals by Enigma members Louisa Stanley and Sandra Cretu. The re-mix version titled Fading Shades shares the same name as Sandra's own 1995 solo European pop-dance/ambient album ;It's an unavailable import at the time of this writing.Mea Culpa's tracks continue with the thematic atmosphere as the album with it's Gregorian chanting, heavy drum beats, seductive French lyrics ! Mea Culpa is also one of the stronger tracks from the MCMXI a.D. album. The lyrics translated from French to English are about an individual's obsession and overpowering temptation into the world of forbidden love and passion;Only the best of lustful intentions ! I guess some things do sound better in French..."

"I love this cd. Only Enigma could produce such various remixes of a song that paints plateaus of sensual scenes for you. The Orthodox remix has to be the best remix in the single. Mea Culpa has been the song created by Enigma that tells a story more than any other. The lyrics, pan pipes, and moanings fit perfectly together."
Best re-mix ever!

"Track #3 on this cd single is an absolute MUST for the enigma fan. You'll know when you hear it. It is the track that should have been on the album. Unbelievable. It's slower than the original, but it's got a bump and groove thing that gets you seriously in the mood."
