"I first came upon this recording when a friend bought it as a joke and loaned it to me. Upon the first hearing however, the laughing stopped. This is Bach with all the precision, sensitivity, phrasing and clarity that this great music deserves. The fact that this music works well on the accordian is as much due to Bach's transcendental writing as it is to the outright virtuosity of Mr. Hussong. This is not your Lawrence Welk accordian player or accordian, for that matter. Mr. Hussong plays a finely crafted, chromatic bass instrument with a beautiful sound that does not weary the ear. Despite having heard several other versions of these English Suites on harpsichord and piano, this recording is my favorite. That fact has nothing to do with the obvious novelty and everything to do with the absolute beauty of the sound and excellence of the performance. Buy it, enjoy it, amaze your friends."
