CD ReviewsShe-Wolf, Shamaness, Scorceress...And indeed Gypsy is! Barbara L. Timmer | Cincinnati, Ohio United States | 04/05/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "I love each and every one of the songs on this TRULY GREAT album. It's one of my favorite Witch CD's! I can't really say I like one song better than another! They're all wonderful! The second song is actually a spell that is sung. It's for Yule. And one of the songs casts a circle. The lyrics I quoted above are from the song that I think is the most powerful and intense one on the whole album. I highly reccomend this album. The music sounds like it's being played by a symphony orchestra. It has that divinely FLOATY quality that Sarah Brightman's CD's have. Great Witchy Music!" Gypsy rocks! Michelle H. Doll | Tampa, FL USA | 03/23/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "I have worn out several tapes, and my latest cd is showing signs of wear already from being played over and over. :-) I have used her music to cast circles, teach children, lullaby (Heaven's Gift) and as excellent dance music." Absolutely beautiful A. Lundeen | Olympia, WA | 01/10/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "I have heard bits and pieces of this cd for years at a group I attend. Now I can listen to the whole thing, and appreciate the flow of it.
The vocals are all in a pleasing, and singable range.Even the cd cover and art are fabulous. This is a cd I would recommend to any pagan, Bring back the light is my favorite Yule song ever. I do disagree with a previous reviewer, this cd does not touch on Christianity at all. The song Heaven's gift is about the birth of a child. A gift from the heavens, is an appropriate term for a baby. Even as a non-Christian the heavens still lie above me. The heavens contain the sun, moon, and the stars. In my opinion Gypsy has gone beyond a knee-jerk reaction to the term heaven, and that is a good thing.=) *editted to add that the previous review I mentioned is the one that reacts to the "God themed songs towards the end of the album"" |
