Album Description Originally released in 1977, Works Volume 1, which reached #12 on the Billboard album chart, marked a turning point for ELP--the double LP contained a side each of solo recordings by all three members, and a fourth side of band recordings. Emerson's side consists of a classical piano piece, Lake's side consisted of concise pop songs, including the hit "C'est La Vie," and Palmer uses his side to rock out, inviting along Joe Walsh for to play lead guitar on one track.
