Cuando Me Entrego Al Amor - Elvis Crespo, Alfanno, Omar
La Bolita - Elvis Crespo, Crespo, Elvis
La Noche - Elvis Crespo, Arroyo, Joe
Mares de Emoción [Maré De Emoçäo] - Elvis Crespo, Evans, Meg

No Me Olvidarás [Balada] - Elvis Crespo, Jaén, Alejandro
Wow Flash! [Pop] - Elvis Crespo, Barreras, Rodolfo
Elvis Crespo may be sporting a slick new 'do and designer threads, but his sound remains the same on Wow Flash, his third studio album in as many years. Just try to sit still during the pulsing merengue rhythms of "Bella F... more »lor," "Mi Sol Mi Luna" and "Wow Flash!" That's par for the course with any Crespo album, but it's also part of the problem. This collection--as infectious as it is--is practically interchangeable with Crespo's previous efforts, 1998's Suavemente and 1999's Pintame. All the same elements are here: bilingual lyrics, party-time shout-outs, and Crespo's nasal delivery. It's all very festive, but the album fails to illustrate any real artistic growth for Crespo. Two bonus tracks, the innocuous power ballad "No Me Olvidaras" and a limp pop version of the title track, do little to prove otherwise. --Joey Guerra« less

Wow Elvis!

"Elvis Crespo has established himself as one of the hottest stars of the Merengue scene with his albums "Pintame" and "Suavemente." His new album, "Wow Flash!" is, in my opinion, his best yet. This album showcases Elvis' strengths while giving him room to grow as a performer. As in his previous albums, the songs in "Wow Flash!" have Spanish lyrics, although the title song mixes in some English lines. Elvis' distinctive voice is in top form. Full of power and rhythm, Elvis' vocal performances sweep you away with the power of a tropical hurricane. His voice is well suited to the aggressive, percussion-rich style of the album's most energetic tracks. But Elvis also shows great range on "Wow Flash!"--he has many opportunities to sing in a gentler mode. One interesting aspect of the album is the appearance of the title song in two versions: one Merengue, one pop. The excellent song "No me olvidaras" also appears in two versions: one Merengue, one a ballad. Elvis excels, whatever the style. And he even wrote or co-wrote many of the songs on this disc.In addition to the highlights described above, there are many other strong selections on this disc. "La Noche" has some great guitar and percussion complementing Elvis' performance. And "Cuando me entrego al amor" is a beautiful song with very moving, very romantic lyrics. "Wow Flash!" is an essential addition to any serious collection of contemporary Latin music."
The world couldn't get enough of "Suavemente".

"Elvis Crespo's new album starts off with a bang. Like his other spanish/english hit, mega-selling "Suavemente", the title track "Wow Flash" is destined to be a frequently played hit in latin clubs. This album shows a lot of maturation on the part of Elvis. He seems to be experimenting more with his voice (check out track #3) and with styles (sample track #6, is that a bachata?). Don't worry, you won't miss the old Elvis with songs like "Mi sol, mi luna", which is performed in Elvis' signature style. The fun intros and experimentation with other sounds keep this album from being one monotonous mid-to-slow tempo merengue. (I didn't even hate the ballad version of "No Me Olvidaras".) For an Elvis fan this is a must-have. I can't wait to hear what he comes up with next."
Another fun one from Elvis!

"Being an avid Elvis fan, I was so excited to hear of this cd. I immediately ran out and got it. At first I was disappointed, I thought it was all the same, but I remembered feeling like that after Pintame, and then I remembered how I couldn't keep my hands of it! It is like that all over again! He has some snazzy remakes, and fun songs. I love Wow Flash, Bella Flor, la Noche, mI sol mi luna, and more! I love the song w/ the arabian beats in it too.. nice touch... i think this cd is more diverse than the others, and i love it as it's own entitly. It is merengue, so I knew that some beats would be similar to his others, but it is great!!"
