"A spirited set of western-flavored tunes recorded for Britt's late-'40s radio shows... Since his biggest hit was the anthemic "Star Spangled Banner Waving Somewhere," this set is packed full of patriotic and military-themed songs, but also some nice weepers and cowboy tunes. Mostly, though, what's notable here are his heartfelt performances... This is easily one of the best albums in this series, thus far. Great stuff -- highly recommended!"
Compared to originals a perspective!

"I was plesently suprised to find that I could replace these tunes. We had lost all of our originals in a recent home fire. They do sound slightly different, not better or worse but different tonal characteristics. The old record palyers had ceramic transducers that had resonant characteristics and peaks that colored the music. The recording system was physical and this also added its' own flavorings.I was how ever sad, that Pinto Pal one of the reasons I bought this CD was just snippits of the original.I however found another CD on Amazon while searching for Pinto Pal that has his original copy and other artist such as the Sons of The Pioneers. All in All I believe this to be a good buy."
