Synopsis
Product DescriptionElise Lebec's new CD, POSSIBLE DREAMS, features original solo piano compositions that blaze new paths in this genre. Her music is inspired by peace, dreams, Mother Earth, love, evolving spirituality, angels, children, compassion, nurturing energy.
Her original piano style mixes hauntingly-beautiful melody lines with tempo changes and stunning dynamics to create an absolutely unique sound.
Pianist Elise Lebec hopes that when people hear her music, it helps them to dream about a better world and then encourages them to make those dreams come true.
"Dreaming is one of the best of all human traits," Elise says, "because it is much easier to attain a goal if you have already visualized it. What do you want your life to be like? What type of world do you want to live in? After you answer those questions, it's logical to try to figure out how to make it happen. I hope that while people are listening to my music, they will think of new ideas and new ways of doing things. They might work toward large goals like peace for our planet or simply try to make their own life happier. Anything positive we add to this world makes it a better place for all of us."
Her third album, POSSIBLE DREAMS, is a solo piano recording filled with 14 original compositions inspired by nature, love and hope for the future.
On POSSIBLE DREAMS, Elise has compositions that deal with hopes and dreams ("Possible Dreams" and "The First Time"), sleep dreaming ("Before Awakening" and "Imaginary Kisses"), nature ("Behold," "A Drive Through Sunflowers" and "Cloudless Sky"), love ("Meeting You Again" and "Colors of the Heart"), and nighttime imagery ("Dark Before Light" and "Moonlight Dance").

ELISE LEBEC'S SOLO PIANO CD POSSIBLE DREAMS WAS INSPIRED BY Sandi Porter | Colorado | 08/25/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "Elise Lebec's third CD is POSSIBLE DREAMS, and it doesn't sound like anything else I have ever heard before. Normally when you hear a solo piano album, it either sounds like the pianist was raised on Bach and Mozart and writes in those styles, or the musician comes out of the pop-rock world and their instrumental music has a verse-chorus-verse structure reflecting those influences. A few meditative new-agers play meandering, stream-of-consciousness stuff.
Then there is Elise's music. It is loose and free, yet structured with catchy elements. Yes, it is hard to describe. Her very original piano style mixes hauntingly-beautiful melody lines with tempo changes, exotic structures and stunning dynamics to create an absolutely unique and haunting sound.
On the CD Elise has compositions that deal with hopes and dreams ("Possible Dreams" and "The First Time"), sleep dreaming ("Before Awakening" and "Imaginary Kisses"), nature ("Behold," "A Drive Through Sunflowers" and "Cloudless Sky"), love ("Meeting You Again" and "Colors of the Heart"), and nighttime imagery ("Dark Before Light" and "Moonlight Dance").
All-instrumental piano music is only part of what Elise has done as an artist. One of her previous CDs was a vocal recording. An American, Elise first spent several years in Australia and then five years in England where she formed the band Post Pop Federation with Mike Lindup (Level 42) and also performed with best-selling alternative-classical violinist Nigel Kennedy, Imogen Heap (Frou Frou), Kiki Dee (Elton John) and Colin Preston (Samantha Mumba). Elise also has worked with Chris Boardman, a top arranger for Barbra Streisand, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Celine Dion and more than 200 films.
You really have to hear this freshly-invigorating new-sounding music and make up your own mind about it. Her style is like no one else's.
