"this is an amazing album
i listen to it as much as possible and rarely tire of it
'trilogie de la mort' is also a very perfect work.
she (or her machines) capture a unique sound.
electronic, but with a very organic element.
the sounds are like distant plane engines slowly churning as they draw closer or father away ...
... and like timeless chanting from monks in a sort of endless celebration of their realization.
i feel very detached while listening to this, as if my brain waves meet its pace.
this is spiritual music - a lot of eliane's work is inspired by the famous tibetan yogi milarepa, so there's a very serious feel to the music and a lot of the flourishes in it bring to mind (if not direct samples, i'm not sure) traditional tibetan instruments used in religious ceremonies.
it would be difficult to go through this entire album and discuss various pieces ... the entire thing is a living, breathing, moving continuity that shouldn't be dissected but rather experienced as a unity.
