Product Description"Dedicated to the Memory" is the agreeably moody and intimate third release from the Atlanta-based band Elevado. The retro/ futurist indie-meets-krautrock rockers temper their sound with the same sonic integration and innovation that should appeal to those missing Athens' Macha, Empire State and Sci Fu. The album was recorded and produced locally at Chris Bishop's Radium Recording. Elevado subtly organizes its disparate textures, from the sustained lush drone and other synthetic offerings of former Athenian Don Dudenhoeffer, to the angular and able guitar work of Cain Wong. Maryn Vance's neo-futurist violin provides another ambient layer, which adds dissonance to Dudenhoeffer's sound machines, making them sound as if they are behind the scenes and encircling the listener all at once. Lead man Justin Science tames random distorted vocals and poetic phrasings with a bottomed-out bass, recalling the best indie and Motown pocket players. Elevado drummer John Vance shifts through tempos and beats with enviable ease and clarity. He's also the animator for the group's video for the track "Rude," which is enjoying considerable pre-release buzz and airplay in the Northeast.
