Beat Me Best Yet.
Ben Gagnon | Hong Kong. SAR | 05/23/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Less than a year after Electric Eel Shocks first full length CD release "Go Europe" Electric Eel Shock is back combining the great "Attie Bauw" as producer and a better harder heating sound is a winning combination that will make you scream (for them baby). Although Europe was a good album and has two of my favorite EES songs "Rock `N' Roll Can Rescue The World" and "Suicide Rock `N' Roll". The album lacks consistency. Where Europe fails Beat Me delivers a solid album with great tracks from beginning to end.

The second the album entered my stereo, the immense sound hit me and I immediately began to groove to heavy riffs and Aki Morimoto screaming "Scream for me baby!!" Which is the exact second I fell in love with this song. The album continues on with the very catchy songs "Bastard", "I can hear the sex noise", "Lemon Lees", "Beat Me", "I love fish but fish hate me".

The album features great variety and unique sound. Combining fluid solos, groovy bass, stoner-rock riffs, 60's rock, light metal, classic pop and jamming style riffs, drum beats, and perfectly inconsistent pauses, that you can't not fall in love with.

Beat Me is by far Electric Eel Shocks best album and a definite must have for all EES fans."
Everything that rocks about Rock.

"Okay, so if you take everything that's cool about Rock and Roll -- everything that rocks about Rock -- toss it in a big loud metal blender, add a dollop of wasabi and flip it on and crank it 'til it blows, you'll be pouring yourself a hot frothy glass of Electric Eel Shock! In addition to great Rock and Roll, these three guys put on an unforgettable show that's fun for the whole family!

If you like everything that rocks about Sabbath, The Ramones, Metallica, Nirvana, Zeppelin, and AC/DC, but you'd like to combine them all into one compact, easy to carry, loud Rock machine with a thick Japanese accent and occasional naked man-buns, then get this album now. You can thank me later.

Oh, and by the way, this album should only be played at JYU ICHI!"
