Synopsis

Album Description

This is the self titled debut release from Glasgow based 5 piece outfit El Presidente. The album sees the band take elements of pop, glam rock, disco and p-funk, while drawing inspiration from artists such as Led Zeppelin, The Bee Gees, Parliament and Prince, creating a sound that is already being likened to the hugely successful Scissor Sisters. "Along with the popularity of Dr.Pepper and the desire to call ice dancing a sport, one of the great mysteries of modern times is why this band is not huge. They rock like a mountain. Saw them live in London and they're even better in the sweaty flesh. If you like jump up and down pop tunes then, even if all you will earn this year is 20 bucks, blow it all madly on this (and maybe some jelly bellies)"
