CD Reviews
Excellent singer who deserves an international career

"Edyta Gorniak ended second in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994 with "To nie ja", which is one of my least favourite songs on this album. She has a very nice voice, and despite the fact that most of the songs are ballads (which I don't particularly like) I like listening to this CD. Best songs are the up-tempo title track, rock ballad "Litania" and especially jazzy "Kasztany". A shame she changed to English, since Polish is such a beautiful language to listen to (even though I don't understand a thing she sings)!"

"Edyta is one of the greatest female artists of all-time. The strength of her voice is so amazing that definitely makes her the greatest diva of all.
"Dotyk" ("The Touch") is her debut album - released only in Poland in 1995. It was a huge success (over half-million units sold). Single "To nie ja" ("It's Not Me") is there the biggest hit of 1994 and the single "Dotyk" ("The Touch") is the biggest hit of 1995. The other hits are "Jestem kobieta" ("I'm A Woman"), "Bede snila" ("I Will Dream") and songs from the most popular musicals in Polish history, in which she performed - "Litania" ("Litany") from "Metro" ("Subway") and "Kasztany" ("Chestnuts") from "Do grajacej szafy grosik wrzuc" ("Throw A Coin To The Jukebox").
After releasing that album Edyta got many proposals from major record companies all over the world. Then she signed a record deal on three albums with worldwide distribution and began her international career with a help from Christopher Neil, who previously discovered other "local star" Celine Dion. Like you see every Edyta's fan must have this album!"

""Dotyk," Polish singer Edyta Gorniak's debut solo CD, is first-class. Richly produced, with inspired instrumental contributions, its diverse songs either blaze with impassioned vitality or smolder with a caressing warmth. Edyta's vocals are truly magmatic: sometimes they're volcanically gushing skyward; other times they're molten and flowing down like lava. The songs alternately project imagery of Edyta either clutching a flickering candle or brandishing a flaming torch. "Dotyk" is an artistic achievement of the highest order."
What a voice!

"Edyta became popular when she appeared in the Polish musical "Metro." Her popularity reached its peak when she was chosen to represent Poland in the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin, where she finished second with "To nie ja" (It's not me), the song that most of all portrays her vocal abilities.
This CD is her debut one. It includes, naturally, the ESC song, her solo songs from "Metro," a Polish version to Jacques Brel's "Ne me quitte pas" and new songs that were written for this album. I love this album! However, it might be difficult to define its style - Pop is probably the best word."
