By combining written and improvised musical elements, Edward Christmas has created compositions which are at once intelligently crafted and emotionally moving. Synthesizers, piano, and cello, superbly played by a handful of top classical musicians, accompany Edward Christmas' bass flute. The bass flute is a powerfully expressive instrument with a deep, mellow and pulsating sound. It gives exceptional warmth and intimacy to the music.Song of the Golden Lotus is a compilation of selections from previous releases by Edward Christmas. The music has been remastered and some of the pieces have been condensed resulting in a melodious and vibrant recording.

"Edward Christmas is a master at creating a gentle, mood-enhancing atmosphere of quiet, thought-provoking sounds. Excellent for your personal meditation, healing work, massage or just general peaceful surroundings. You can almost smell the incense through his use of woodwind sounds and gentle instrumentation. A must for every collector of New-Age music!"

"I bought an earlier version of this album in 1978, Brooklyn, NY.. I was 21 at the time. It has three cuts on it: Song of the the Golden Lutus; Devata and Wu Wei (19:40, 12:45 and 10:00 repectively). Those of you who remeber this know Mr. Christmas as Swami Kriya Ramananda. The album is inspirational to this day. It helps prepare you for meditation and guides you through it and powers you down, An excellent contribution to New Age Music and general inspiration. Check out "Hymm to a New Age". I will try to get this compilation. Aspire to Inspire before you Expire."
