A fine "greatest hits collection" of Aute

"Luis Eduardo Aute is an icon of modern Spanish singer-songwriting since the 60s, so he is one of those authors who has been able to gather a huge number of compositions and albums of high quality both in the lyrics as well as in the music dimensions. Already in his sixties he has just released a new production, "A día de hoy" (2007). For me he is among the Spanish singer songwriters the one who knows to compose a fine "content song" (social, collective problems), as well as an "erotic" song, yes, "erotic", which is different to say a "love son", that he knows how to handle well too.
It is difficult to make a greatest hits collection of such a prolific auteur, and that is why the one that is being shown here is recommendable, because it somehow manages to put together the most representative songs by Aute from the late sixties to early eighties period. Considering the fact that it is in this period that Aute creates a big part of the songs that will make him deserve a brilliant place in the history of popular Spanish music, this is the best place to start with him. The collection has the title of "Paseo por el Amor y el Deseo", which translate as "Promenade through Love and Desire". Here we have classic songs of his like "Al Alba", "Anda", "Slowly", "Pasaba por aquí", plus the anthemic Spanish song of the late 60s, "Aleluya No.1", which is one of his most proverbial songs in the "social songs" genre, and "Rosas en el Mar", this one more known once in the voice of Massiel. You will enjoy the eroticism of songs like "No te desnudes todavía" (Do not get naked yet"), "Cuerpo a Cuerpo" (Body against Body). And, ¿how about that song that is at the same time kind of erotic and also reflective of human and social problems, "La Belleza" (The Beauty)? You will find in Aute the exact mix of melody and harmony, and of beauty and depth that you can only discover in great artists. That, I assure to you."
