"Edith was one of the classic vaudeville blues singers, and this her September song, proves that there was plenty of the old hip-shakin'-strut yo' stuff happening with the old girl. Ikey Robinson's tasty guitar & banjo licks, along with Little Brother Montgomery's backroom piano, provide just the right funky groove for Miss Edith's vintage blues-chirping. I loved this album when it first came out in the 70's, and along with Alberta Hunter's late Columbia LP output, this is "must-have" material for aficionados of classic blues ladies."
