Another gem from one of the best blues bands around

"Veteran blues saxophonist and singer Eddie Shaw puts together another terrific set of rocking blues with his trusty band the Wolf Gang, which includes his son Eddie Vaan Shaw on guitar, Detroit Junior on piano, "Shorty" Gilbert on bass, and Tim Taylor on drums. Shaw is a very fine singer and songwriter and most of the songs are originals, with covers of Little Milton's "Were Gonna Make It" and his old boss Howlin' Wolf's classic "Howlin' for my Darlin'". His saxophone playing is also very strong, it showcased especially on the instrumental "Rockin' With Eddie". Vaan's guitar playing is slightly rock influenced but thankfully he knows not to intrude and his solo's are generally very good.
I have seen Eddie Shaw and the Wolf Gang live at the Silver Dollar in Toronto and this set is quite reminiscent of their live shows, straight ahead rocking blues that will keep you entertained all night."
