"Eddie Money has one too many compilations and none of them are perfect, but this is one of the best. First, there was 1989's Greatest Hits: Sound of Money. A great compilation with 13 tracks including 2 songs unique to the album: Looking through the eyes of a child & Stop Steppin' on my heart. Then there were the 10 track collections: Good as Gold & Super Hits - both unacceptable from their exclusion of "Shakin'" alone! Which brings us to what this review is for: 2001's Best of. All the Eddie Money hits are here but there are some misteps which make it weak as a compilation. "Running back", Money's flirtation with reggae could've been left off, as well as "live" versions of "Rock and Roll the place" and "No Control". Eddie Money sounds best when his strongest hits are one right after another. You'll get them all with this disc, but you may find yourself programming or skipping a few of the other songs regularly.*2003's Essential Eddie Money is also available (adding yet another Eddie Money compilation!). It also has all the big hits (again), but includes a few different album tracks than "Best of". It also only has studio versions. Either way, you get all the big songs on one disc."
Could Have Been Better

"sony's release of another Eddie Money best of has missed the boat! It appears sony wants to rehash the glory days of Eddie's work from the late 70's and early 80's. Eddie has had many great rock hits throughout the late 80's and early 90's that are in fact much better than most of the filler tracks here. How could you put " Running Back " on a best of cd and not "Gimme Some Water" ? Being that this disc is remastered the sound is incredible ! The sad thing here is sony has forgotten the great 1991-1992 Right Here release, and many of the hit singles were left off as well as the beautiful live acoustic tune "Save A Little Room In Your Heart For Me. As stated earlier you would be hard pressed to find many songs better than the 10 classics on here we all love and know !"
It's just good time rock n' roll.

"Fanatics may miss tracks here, but this was released for the casual fans, and that's exactly who will love this. "Best Of" pretty much includes the same songs as the older "Sound Of Money" collection, and adds 3 more. Plenty of great hits on here, like "I Wanna Go Back", "Shakin'", "Walk On Water", and of course "Two Tickets To Paradise". Plus "Take Me Home Tonight", "Think I'm In Love", and "Peace In Our Time". I never thought to much about "Eddie Money" at the time, but with this disc I realize how many good hits he really did have, all of which everyone should know well."
Not the best of but still good

"this is a pretty good cd but most of his smaller medium size energy hits are missing! also, including live tracks of no control and rock n roll the place are useless! i like the cd artwork nice front and back pics! but ,sony should release either a live cd recorded years ago or a cd containing eddie's big hit singles from the 70's and 80's! example, some top 40 songs added that are out of print to make people want to buy this and to think they are gettting something new! they should have included a couple songs never before released from studio recording! the best greatest hits eddie money cd is YOU CAN'T KEEP A GOOD MAN DOWN! ANOTHER BEST OF COMPILATION DISSAPOINTMENT!1991's right here had some great rock singles like i'll get by and fall in love again as well as she takes my breath away! none of the songs from that cd are added!"
