CD ReviewsSoulful 03/17/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is the real thing. Mobile Fidelity Original Master Recording includes a 13th, previously unreleased track." "Letters from Mississippi" Naomi Johnson | 04/07/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "I have three Eddie cd's and "Letters from Mississippi"is defently my top choice I got it by mail in 1988 and was a fan for life after a couple of listens. If your a fan of blue eyed soul this is a must have a very strong album from the first cut to the last." Do whatever is necessary to get this album/cd! Naomi Johnson | Columbus, Ohio USA | 03/25/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "If you're an Eddie Hinton fan, and you don't have this album, I don't need to tell you why you ought to get it. Suffice it to say that this item is very very nearly -- I mean CLOSE -- as good as Dear Y'all. If you're not an Eddie Hinton fan -- well, there's still hope for you. If you think there's no good soul music left to find, then find Eddie Hinton's work. This particular work is interesting in that it combines Hinton's soulful style with a little more rock than in his other albums. And it works a treat! From the rockin' title track right through to Eddie's vocal-sandpaper caress of Sam Cooke's "I'll Come Running Back To You," the work sends shivers up my spinal cord, and alternately claws at my heart and makes me dance with joy. This is good stuff, Maynard!"
