"A passionate musical adventure that evokes images of a quest to an exotic, tropical jungle, filled with beauty and danger. Utilizing a rich universe of electronic textures, voices, guitar, piano and percussion, Van Fleet creates an exotic and atmospheric soundtrack to a story which the listener is left to imagine. The tracks flow one into the other, with recurring motifs that surface every now and then, modulating, evolving, and tying the work together as a whole. Very satisfying! Van Fleet is a prolific composer of electronic and acoustic music in a variety of different styles, with themes centering around nature and outdoor adventures. To me, this album in particular stands out. If you like "The Forgotten Tribe", you may also enjoy the musical journeys of Jeff Johnson and Brian Dunning, as well as those of David Arkenstone. And of course, for the ultimate in adventurous musical storytelling, try composer Basil Poledouris' soundtrack to the movie "Conan the Barbarian"."
