"This is a very good offering from one of the strangest artists of the 60's/70's. If you have forgotten about that time period, this release will give you that, 60's of the mind, feeling.
Now if I could only find Mr. Sanders other solo recordings. I especially would like to find a song called "The Illiad" on CD. I think it is on the LP "Sanders Truck Stop" but I'm not sure."

"Edward Sanders is an author,a journalist, an activist, an environmentalist and a vegetarian. His "Thirsting For Peace" CD is very experimental and totally unique. His strangely soothing vocals and prose are accompanied by very odd but alluring instrumentation that are mostly keyboard laden. His lyrics and song titles are cerebral, esoteric and lofty. Ed Sanders is the best vocalist and lyricist associated with the Fugs. "Thirsting For Peace" is an apropos tile for an Ed Sanders CD because for over forty years Sanders has opposed war, social injustice, religious bigotry, environmental genocide and cruelty to animals. This very "trippy" CD is a must buy. It is in a league of its own. "American Bard" is another classic Ed Sanders' original. He is one of Woodstock's finest residents !"
