"Terry Gilkenson (not sure of spelling) and The Easy Riders were the first Folk Trio I ever heard. Their hit Marianne came out about the same time Harry Belafonte's Jamaican Farewell. That should have been in the late 50's. So they predated the Kingston Trio by a few years. They also had another LP called Blue Mountain. They have a unique sound which has been copied by some other groups but never really duplicated. I particularly like "South Coast". If you are a collector of folk music, this is the rock all the rest were built upon."
