Album Description"MCIAA play a kind of space rock in reverse ... [Marclay & Lee's] edit of a 2002 live show is jagged and electric, as enervated and mercurial as their hosts' work is brooding and suffused with sleepy menace."-- The Wire The re-release of a split LP on Opax Records--a special limited edition of 100 LPs with original wood paintings by Roberto Opalio. This final release in the split series sees the Italian cosmic duo sharing space with well-known audio/visual artist, performer, and turntable innovator Christian Marclay together with cello improviser Okkyung Lee, an ubiquitous figure in the downtown New York avantgarde scene. Their track, "Rubbings," is the result of a live performance recorded at New York's Tonic in December 2003. My Cat Is An Alien's piece, "Beyond the Limits of the Stars/Beyond the Limits of the Grooves," was recorded in 2003 at the Space Room Studio in Torino and was kept safely in the archives until September 2005, when it was completely re-mixed and edited for this release.
