"This Ace recordings compilation of Earl King from Japan contains all the tunes of Earl's Pearls but one : "Nervous Breakdown" ( first appeared on The First Take is The Deepest(Westside)) is in and "Let the Good Time Roll" is out.
"Let The Good Time Roll" is an alternative take of "Darling Honey Angel Child", which also has a splendid version from Imperial titled "Come on".
This Japanese edition has transcribed lyrics in English and credits of musicians and precise liner notes written in Japanese. Earl King is obscure but not to be missed by enthusiastic fans such as the one who compiled this compilation. Rolling piano of Huey Smith and over-driving guitar of Earl in the style of Guitar Slim. Good tunes in the golden age of New Orleans rhythm & blues in the 50s."
