"An absolutely thrilling (sonically and musically)performance that definitely ranks as one of the best ever. The opening crescendo of the strings and the French Horns in The Flying Dutchman is just absolutely thirlling! A stunning performance, that definitely outclasses the one by Herbert Von Karajan. The New World Symphony is another top notch performance. The French Horns are strong and articulate, and the timpani loud and tight! The first movement is played with a dramatic intensity that is much more exciting than many existing versions. This performance places Horenstein in the ranks of such illustrious recordings such as Kubelik, Szell and Stokowski. Turn it up loud and relish the performance!!!"
