Pretty good recording

"To summarize my view, this is a pretty good recording. If you're a stereophile, check this CD out. Technically, it's one of the best studio recordings I've ever heard, with great detail and beautiful rendition of the individual instruments.
The performers take a stately approach to one of Dvorak's most exciting works, the Quintet Op. 81. They are excellent technically - but the performance didn't stir me. I compared it directly to the old recording by Clifford Curzon and the Budapest Quartet. The Budapest Qt is not really my favorites but, what can you say, these guys bring it when they play the Op. 81. The recording here is not as passionate and drags a bit.
About the Op. 97 Quintet, I decided that it's really not a very good piece. A solid performance is delivered.
Middling but solid review."
