We can thank Mr. Walter van de Leur pouring over the autograph scores of Billy Strayhorn during a period of over ten years to find these gems. The arrangements are just as Strayhorn wrote them decades ago, yet they sound as modern as any jazz music today. The Dutch Jazz orchestra also has 3 other Strayhorn rarities out, You Go To My Head, Portrait of a Silk Thread, and Something to Live For, and all are available in a 4 disc box-set. This is simply great music by the unappreciated master, Mr. William Thomas Strayhorn. You should also check out van de Leur's book, Something To Live For which provides an in depth examination and evaluation of Strayhorn's work."
