"I have to say that in buying this cd I was looking for a replacement for the worn out cassette versions I own (I went through two copies, thank you very much) and the chance to hear this classic on my car stereo as I believe it was originally intended. Although I did get my hands on a cd version of one of the best pop albums ever made, it was not the 'Rio' I grew up with. This version (which is an enhanced cd including the videos 'Rio', 'Hungry Like the Wolf', and 'Save a Prayer') has been re-edited and remixed to the point of near distraction if you're used to the original album. Some of the edits are fairly un-noticeable but the elimination of the synth melody at the beginning of 'My Own Way' or the deletion of the surging octave stabs that open 'Hold Back the Rain' are hard to ignore and a bit disappointing at first. For the casual listener or new 'Duranie' these modifications won't be as bothersome and after a few listens these amazing songs, even in edited form, are still as satisfying as the original. I highly recommend this release to anyone who appreciates strong melodies, clever word-play, pulsating rhythms, and pure unapologetic pop. Regardless of any alterations, this cd is a new wave masterpiece that has yet to become dated or kitschy as so many 80's albums have. And yes, it sounds great in the car..."
