"This is a 40 song collection of titles that were on Audio Fidelity LPs in the 50's and most songs are from V1, V2, V9 and V11 of that long series and include some rare Betty Owens vocals. The lineup of songs include most of the familiar traditional jazz tunes well done by the Dukes. By the time these recordings were made the Dukes of Dixieland were a well polished touring band and the results are excellent. Audio Fidelity pioneered the stereo LP and the Dukes were the first jazz band to record in stereo. And this Double Gold set makes an excellent introduction to their fine music"

"This is a great collection from the truly amazing original Dukes. (Jack Maheu is spectacular) This is a truly superb collection well worth owning. The Dukes have this incredible ability to be so finely polished, while still sounding perfectly fresh. Amazing.Only two regrets: Liner notes are virtually nothing for this release. And the omission of the outrageous (that means good) rendition of "When The Saints Go Marching In". I have a cassette recording that I made from a friend's LP collection that includes Saints (as well as many of the tracks on "Parade") from about 20 years ago. I wish I had it on the CD's. Oh well. Other than these two annoyances, I can't speak highly enough about this release."
