Very Exellent Album

"For those who love to listen to any type of rock, be it classic, modern 80's or whatever, this album is for you. It plays with the modern techniques yet not spoiling the music with some lead "singer" screaming like he is constipated. Instead you have a high tenor who has a wide range, and also gives you an 80's feel to the music. And ya we all love the 80's right? The speed is great, the talent of this band is phonominal, and I recommend it to any lover of rock. Any body who enjoys rock can appritiate this album."

"...the force to be reckoned with! I remember when they were just starting out... had a demo album on mp3.com, which I ordered. They have progressed so fast it's mind-blowing. You will not find better musicianship or so many well-crafted songs played with such fury and passion. The guitar playing is just insane virtuosity -by far more impressive to me than the likes of Yngwie (who I adored) and Symphony X's guitarist... and the drummer, with his deathmetal background, is very very fast! He has to be, to keep up with the blazing guitars that fly all over the fretboard. The riffing is the most incredible thing about Dragonforce, besides their sheer spirit, which I'd have to say is greater than Lost Horizon's by now. This is a burning light of what metal is all about."

Excellent, But It's Been Done Before

"Just heard this, but on first impression it's definitely one of the best power metal albums to come out in recent years. Decent clean vocals, double-bass drumming from hell, virtuoso guitar work, and anthemic choruses in 'A' are all here in abundance. While this is a well-worn formula, DF still manage to make it sound great by going for a very 'pure' sound. They avoid sounding pompus and/or cheesy, like many of the Italian power bands, and they also infuse some real enthusiasm & energy into the tunes, rather than just doing paint-by-numbers Euro-power metal, like many of the formerly good German bands (Hammerfall, Edguy, Gamma Ray). A good comparison would be a faster & more interesting Lost Horizon.
The only reason I'm gonna withhold a star is because this all HAS been done before. Helloween perfected the style 20 years ago during the Kiske era, and while DF do a better job than any other power band I've heard in years, they are re-inventing the wheel rather than being truly innovative (and no, playing it all a lil' faster doesn't count as innovative ;-) )."
