"Okay, I thought the Blow Monkeys were fun and made for some good camp but ne'er did I think by risking buying this album would I discover such raw mature talent as this. I mean Paul Weller(The Jam, Style Council, etc) producing this didn't hurt a bit and you can hear his guitars and general style all around. But more power to his production in that he gave Dr. Robert freedom to let his talent fly and lightning did strike. This album is a tribute to an amazing soul and an amazing artist. Its like the Blow Monkeys never existed. Or at least if you know of the pretty boy pop that they were you realize Dr. Robert had yet to have some hard knocks to give his music some raw style. The guy is as good as any musician will ever get and his lyrics are complete unique interpretations on love, friendships and life. Its a stunning surprise and I'm proud to say that I got mine for 99 cents. I've since become such a fan that I've spent 30.00 and up for his rarer stuff and do so without a blink. So venture this one regardless of your familiarity. If you're a blues, soul, r&b and or rock n'roll snoot, this one will surprise even you!"
