"I first heard Dr. Hook in 1997 when I found a record that my uncle had in the basement and so I listened to it and from then on I was a fan. The album was "The Ballad of Lucy Jordan". Since then I have been a big fan and it seems like everytime I hear a song that I haven't heard before it just rocks! I have not yet found a song that they have done or a record that they have done with songs on it that aren't awesome. I think if you like seventies rock or are just a big hippie then you would love this record. I have just gotten it and it is the best!"

"This is Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show's debut album, "Doctor Hook". It was produced in 1971 and features the hit single "Sylvia's Mother". Ray Sawyer and Dennis Locorriere were the lead vocalists for the band and now have solo careers. This CD appeals to the country and rock audiences. This is the band that can make you laugh one minute and cry the next...The songs were written by the late Shel Silverstein."
