The best of the Wilko era Feelgoods recordings...
03/10/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"My first introduction to the Feelgoods, and what an introduction! From the trilogy of all time classics - "Going Back Home", "Back In The Night" and "Riot In Cell Block No 9" - through to the lesser known but equally exhilarating "Rolling and Tumbling", "I Can Tell" and "Because You're Mine" (and five more of the same), this is prime, thumping and sinster British R&B. Brilleaux's harp playing and manic vocals, Wilko's riffing, Sparko and Figure's booming rhythm, I could go on forever about the virtues of this record. Buy it!"

If you try to single out the manic Wilko's guitar playing, you need to mention Lee Brilleaux's growling voice, and then there's the rhythm section..."
