Synopsis

Though it seemed a few years ago that happy hardcore had evolved completely into drum & bass, early jungle nostalgia and the emergence of goony two-step garage have revived the lucky form, an utterly artificial spinning together of sampled breakbeats, peppy synth lines, and chipmunk vocals. Dougal's incessant take on the subject is like a persistent sunbeam in a world of self-serious techno artists. He doesn't care that his natural instruments sound synthetic or that his brand of euphoria is only available in pill form. In his mind this sound is a full-fledged and heartfelt reality. Forget that this chipper bounce only lasts an hour--you might as well enjoy it before the world slows down again. --Ian Christe

Candy to the core !

"This is pure Dougal! Nice, cheesy, sing-a-long boppin' Happy Hardcore! All you ravers out there - you know the Dougal score! I've been following Dougal ever since he burst onto the rave scene in my home country of England. Dougal has long been known for his trademark tunes, charecterised by stompy synths, sailing violins, bangin' drums and girly-gurl vocals - its great! "Words Of Wisdom" is a winner and in my opinion is one of his greatest tracks, up there with "Life is Like a Dance" (not on this album) Another great one is "Dont you Realise" The vocals on these two tracks are tremendous and combined with the sound of that Happycore bass and that happycore drum its very intoxicating indeed! Dougal is cheesy...and he's proud of it...and so are we. Easily one of the most influential Happy Hardcore DJs the UK has ever produced. This album is a good mix of tunes and will satisfy anyone who likes to dance all night to this very British sound - the sound of Happycore! Enjoy!"
