CD Reviews

Retro Donnas
Jimi Joplin | Rock Town USA | 06/21/2009

"With their third effort after emerging from the punk phase, The Donnas conjure up some ghosts of hair bands past. I was a little surprised at the song selection expecting something a little more fresh. The good news, it's still great rock and roll and they are certainly one of the best rock bands today. Brett Anderson, Maya Ford, Torry Castellano, and guitar goddess Allison Robertson gel like few groups can. They should, they've been playing together since they were able to hold drum sticks and guitar picks. So this album took a trip in a time machine, so what? There's nothing wrong with having flashbacks of Van Halen and Kiss!"

"Bitchin by Donnas

are you into hard rocking girl bands, then you have to check these women out. If your into heavy guitars and great drumming you will love them. i think this is their strongest album in years. it is like their play for themselves again not for mass radio play. Vocals are strong and cunning. You will love the lyrics. check them out a good uplifting experience."
These girls can rock!!!

"I've been listening to the Donna's since the late 90's and in that time they have become one of my favorite rock bands. This album is by far their best and one that any fan of 80's party rock or heavy metal garage bands must have.

While their previous albums tended to be a mixed bag of really great songs and songs that were mediocre at best, you won't find any of that on Bitchin'. I can't think of a single song on this album that doesn't rock. I put this on my mp3 player or put the CD in my car while driving to work and just put it on repeat. I can't even guess how many times I've listened to this album since it came out.

I have recommended this to everyone I know and no one has been disappointed."
