This is the companion CD to Donna's book The Songwriter In Me: Snapshots of My Creative Process. The book has 24 lyrics included and now you can buy the CD and hear the songs as you follow along the lyrics in the book.

While a few of these songs have been included in earlier Donna Ulisse recordings with full band production, Ulisse the songwriter, shares with her listener the recordings of the songs in their original form after she writes them without the full production of a band. The instrumentation on this CD is sparse with often just an acoustic guitar (by some top acoustic players including Bryan Sutton, Kenny Smith, Glenn Duncan and Tony King) and at times adding a mandolin or fiddle with some vocal harmony from Ulisse's husband & frequent co-writer Rick Stanley who also solos on the song The Man That I Am. This setting truly showcases the songs and Ulisse's remarkable voice.

Donna Ulisse has been a nominee for the International Bluegrass Music Association's Songwriter of the Year award in 2012, 2013, & 2014 and has songs recorded by Claire Lynch, Larry Stephenson Band, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Nu-Blu, The Bankesters, Louise Mosrie, & Diana Jones. She also had a song on the 2014 Grammy winning album Streets of Baltimore by The Del McCoury Band.
