"Donna summer is One of the most Underrated talents ever. she was more than a Disco Diva. She could blend so many styles and knock them out the park.these songs still hold up and Donna's vocal range is something else. the sound on here is really good as well. good tracks and a stronger artist who hasn't gotten her full due as a Musical Powerhouse."

"There are many Donna Summer compilations, including the rather skimpy 20th Century Masters Volume One. This album, however, must be one of the most bizarre. The first few tracks like Could It Be Magic (from the Love Trilogy album) are obscure songs from her early career in the 1970s. Tracks 5 to 10 were huge hits and all date from her later, post-disco phase. The Wanderer (1980) and There Goes My Baby (1984) are pure pop ballads, whilst This Time I Know It's For Real (1989) is a fast uptempo dance track from the Stock/Aitken/Waterman produced album Another Place and Time. State Of Independence is a magnificent spiritual song from the 1982 album Donna Summer. I Will Go With You (Con te partiro) is another memorable hit, this time from 1999, and the album concludes with a single from 2005. Why give an album the title 20th Century Masters and include post-2000 tracks? Whilst the music is good, the collection suffers by comparison with the many other Donna Summer compilations out there.
