I was particularly taken with the opening cut, "Lullaby of Birdland," which starts out with a classical music interpretation then eases into fabulous jazz. Dr. Shirley has an amazing and unique genius for music; he plays from the soul. No album ever issued on his work is less than outstanding, and this CD is no exception to that."
