CD ReviewsReturn of a New Age Legend tiberius34 | Virginia, United States | 02/24/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "It has been a long hiatus since Don Harriss's last release of original material in his 1992 "Mysterium" album.Harriss is back, although this time without the Synclavier and other keyboard machinations. "Hero's Welcome" is composed entirely on a Steinway Grand Piano. This intrepid New Age artist, however, is again in artistic top form in his ingratiatingly seductive selections on this album. The effect is an aural paradise of poignant beauty. Magnifico! While it is my hope that Harriss will in the future again combine other keyboard instruments with the grand piano to replicate the ethereal sound of "Shell Game," "Vanishing Point," "Abacus Moon," "Elevations," and "Mysterium," this album is still a creative tour de force and an essential addition to the serious listener of Don Harriss's music." Don Harriss always delivers!!!! tiberius34 | 05/28/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "Okay, since we haven't heard from him in a long time, I was wondering how good this was going to be. But from the first time I listened to this cd, I loved it. My ultimate favorites are Turning Home, Homecoming, The Standing Shore, The Traveler and After the Wind, the Rain....These were the songs that really stood out but I pretty much liked the whole cd. I wish we could hear more from him. He is a gifted pianist. Hopefully everybody who listened to this cd, likes it as much as I did."
