Mellow ballad sessions by legendary sax master

"Recorded in June 1950 and April 1952 in Paris, and, as the title might lead you to believe, these sessions find Byas soloing melodically on mid-tempo ballads. With only one upbeat blues jam, the set list is on the mellow side. There's little display of the advanced swing stylings that he's most well-known for, though it's a subtly pleasant listen.
