"This is a truly outstanding CD! Live recording of performance in southern Germany in 1967. Byas on tenor sax, with piano, string bass and drums. Recording quality is fine. Don Byas is often overlooked as one of the true greats of the tenor sax. His best-known recordings are with Dizzy Gillespie in the mid 1940's. He plays very melodically, and improvises effortlessly on this session. His ability to improvise is an absolute joy! Rhythm section accompaniment is more than adequate. This is THE BEST saxophone quartet recording I've ever heard! Buy this CD BEFORE it goes out of print!"
