Product DescriptionWith its 2500 inhabitants, Rognan in northern Norway is counted as the place in Norway with the largest number of bands per citizen. Among these, there is one single hardcore band: Dominic. Norway's HC-capital, Bodø, is only an hour drive away though, and this is where Dominic found their place ideologically and socially in the scene built around Bodø Hardcore Festival (10 years anniversery in 2009!) and The Spectacle. In Bodø and eventually Trondheim, the band followed the strict DIY-ethics and released the EP "Running With Scissors" and the selftitled debut LP in 2006. The centre of the Rognan-scene, is the studio entitled Smia (The Smithy), where the blacksmith Ekmann spent his days - and ended them by hanging himself. After several years out of town, Dominic defied rumors of self-tying nooses and sudden corpse odeour from the forge; They needed to return home to Smia when the new album should be written: Nord. Even though Nord ( north in Norwegian) mainly is a hardcore record, it is dripping with airy & epic guitar parts, reminiscing more of postrock. The band is ripping through the album with an adorable energy, fronted by incredibly fluent drumming and topped by perfectly crisp-sounding dueling guitars. Nord is everything a good rock record should be; energic, direct and LOUD!
