"This man is a musician's musician. He combines the two-handed tapping technique of Edward Van Halen and the open tunings (DADGAD, for those of you interested in copping his style) as well as the use of harmonics normally associated with the late Michael Hedges, another steel-stringed guitar virtuoso to whom I compare Dominic Gaudious most favorably. The signal processor used for the audio effects could have been scaled back a bit...a chorus effect with a 12-string guitar is redundant, and the same effect with a 6-string guitar is unnecessary when the player has a 12-string available. This in no way detracts from Gaudious' playing, which is inspired and brilliant. I can also attest to this player's live act...these songs are reproduced faithfully (i.e., NO OVERDUBS), testifying further to his talent. A word of advice to the next US entry in the Americas' Cup yacht race: Dub a loop of "Tongue of the Ocean" (track 1) and let your crew listen to it during the entire race...I promise there's no way the Aussies'll take the cup away again!"
