Domenico Modugno belonged to a musical generation in which music might not easily clear up respect the ardent and febrile poetic mood. As a matter of fact, you may find similar traces in Jacques Brel, Charles Trenet or Luz Bonfa, Antonio Carlos Jobim or Agustin Lara, as composer-singers and the list would be even major around composers such as Carmichael, Johnny Mercer, Errol Garner, Richard Rodgers, in other latitudes
Modugno knew to impress the Italian song of new airs, renovated splendor and innovative lyricism, in the great tradition of the well known inspired Italian lyric tradition. His reputation and world fame came from the honored distinctions to be awarded twice in San Remo Festival, but his legend definitively surmounted these notable prizes to become a popular icon of the Italian song.

"Sighhhhh, someone gave this 5 stars? These songs are not the originals. The search continues.
Anyone know if the WEA label CD is made using the original tapes? WEA stands for Warner,
Elektra & Atlantic which is a MAJOR label so I'm hopeful.
Aloha"
