"An unissued session by Doc Cheatham is always something to treasure. At the time of this concert,Doc was quite young (76); quite young, because this outstanding trumpet player remained active until his death at 92.There ain't many words to say about this date, except that you're going to listen to very great music, played by one of Harlem's greatest trumpet players. He salutes his old friends, playing Louis Armstrong,Fats Waller and Earl Hines' tunes.Like always, each trumpet solo is a gem;and there is a true masterpiece,a wonderful version of "I double dare you",a tune Louis Armstrong recorded a long time ago.Really, you won't waste your time listening to Doc Cheatham, one of the most underrated jazz players of all times."
