Beauty is often dark

"The reviewer below who find this record bad and compares it to food poisoning seem to have a very narrow concept of beauty. In fact, this is one of my favorite electronica albums ever, for some of the same reasons that s/he dislikes it.It is dark, yes, but hey, I know (and love) music that is a lot darker than this. This record balances between the dark and the light, the cold (beats) and the warm (melodies). It is moody, melancolic and tremendously beatiful. It is vintage Warp material, and it still sounds brand new.If you like Aphex Twin or Boards of Canada or Autechre, you should not leave out this less known masterpiece."

"It is true, this is a dark album. It's dark like when the lights are out and car headlights flood your room for a second and then vanish. This is a special album because it has such a beautiful cover that glimmers like fish scales. I don't think this is as good as his first album under the Disjecta name (probably taken from a book by Beckett), but it is a moving and powerful album.Where did Clifford go? No one knows. Maybe he works in real estate now. It's hard to know. It's hard to care. Nevertheless, buy this rather than the new Aphex Twin, because it's better, and not as long."
F*!#?ing beautiful...

"imagine yourself in a cave miles below the earth's surface... focusing only on the sounds of water dripping in the void. clean pit and lid is the echo of every droplet bouncing off of the cold, alien walls: filling every crevace with the texture of sound."
